Okuma Guide Select Classic Downrigger Combo
Built to a guide-quality standard, this combo pairs the Okuma Guide Select Classic trolling rod with the Coldwater "A" low-profile linecounter reel, giving you a stepped-up setup for serious downrigger trolling across salmon waters up and down the West Coast. With four rod length and power options, this combo scales from Puget Sound flats and bays to bigger open-water trolling programs where extra backbone matters. We're outfitting it with the Okuma Guide Select Classic rod in your choice of length and power — from a 9'0" MH to a 10'6" XH — paired with the Okuma Coldwater 454DA linecounter reel, delivering a smooth, dependable drag and ample capacity for long days on the water.
Rod & Reel: The 9'0" MH is a great fit for Coho, Pinks, and most Chinook, while the 9'3" H and 10'6" H or XH options step up for bigger Chinook and heavier gear spread, all matched to the Coldwater 454DA reel's guide-tested performance. Choose left or right-hand retrieve.
Line: Choose P-Line CXX Strong 20 pound copolymer, or P-Line EndurX 50 or 65 pound braid with topshot.
Best For: Downrigger trolling anglers targeting salmon across Puget Sound and the West Coast.
