This setup is a perfect match for Puget Sound salmon. We typically use 2-4 ounce sinkers and mooch anywhere from the surface down to 200' and find this combo is a great option for that.

The Rod

Daiwa North Coast 8'6" 2-piece 10-20 pound line rating, medium action is lightweight and easy to fish all day for this rod-in-hand technique. Length allows you to easily fish leaders up to 6' long and still net your catch. We like the power of this rod, as it is light in the hand, has the sensitivity to feel subtle bites, but enough backbone to bring a hefty Chinook to the boat. 

The Reel

Daiwa Sealine Linecounter 20 is a great match for the 8'6" North Coast, and is one of our most popular saltwater salmon reels. Super accurate line counter allows you to target the depths you need, and a smooth drag will be there to take care of business when you hook up.

The Line

We spool up this combo with P-Line CX Premium Hi-Vis 20 pound copolymer line. The reel holds about 200 yards.
