Okuma SST Kokanee & Trout Trolling Combo
If you're trolling on lakes and reservoirs for trout and kokanee, this is a setup worth checking out. We paired together an Okuma SST Kokanee rod with an Okuma low-profile line counter to give ultimate versatility, no matter where in the West you like to fish.
The Rod
We think the Okuma SST series is such a great choice for its price that we had to use it in this combo, the 7'6" 2-piece model with a line rating of 4-12 lb is such a versatile trolling rod, it has the backbone to pop a downrigger clip but is lightweight enough to really have fun with any size trout or kokanee you hook.
The Reel
Okuma Coldwater Low Profile 354 is a great size for lake trolling. If you decide to use this as a flat-line rod, the line counter is an invaluable tool. It matches the SST Kokanee Rod series beautifully. With a very smooth drag system, it's a perfect contender for soft-mouthed Kokanee. Take you're pick of left-hand or right-hand retrieve before you hit the checkout button.
The Line
We will spool up your reel with P-Line CX Premium Moss 15 pound test, which is ultra-thin for its strength and a good line for any size trout, kokanee or other fish swimming around your favorite lake or reservoir. The reel has a capacity of 220 feet of 15 pound line, more than enough!
